Grab Bar

While our cork anti-slip products offer excellent safety in your bathroom, we still recommend the installation of a grab bar to add even more safety. Grab bars are easy to install either inside the bath or shower or outside. They can be positioned in common touch points where people would usually reach out for support when getting in or out of the bath or shower and can simply be screwed to the wall. Some can even double up as towel rails too.

A grab bar is especially important if you have elderly relatives or have mobility issues yourself. They provide additional support next to a bath, shower or toilet allowing the person to lift and lower themselves without having to place their hands on the slippery tiles.

Positioning Your Grab Bars

For grab bars to be effective they must be positioned in the right places. For example, if you or a family member has trouble rising from the toilet without assistance, a grab bar installed on either side of the toilet will give plenty of support. A grab bar on one side of the bath will allow the person to hold onto this and the other side of the bath to push themselves up. In the shower, a grab bar inside the shower to hold onto while showering and one just outside the door will give the stability required to enter and exit the shower safely.

When installed alongside our anti-slip flooring, grab bars help to give people more confidence when using bathroom facilities and to prevent slips and falls from occurring.

A Wide Range of Styles Available

If you are looking for a grab bar to match your existing bathroom decor, you are in luck. Grab bars come in a wide range of colours and styles, from white through to chrome and even polished wood. With so many different options to choose from, you an easily find a grab bar that suits your interior decor.

For boats, grab bars are handy to have in all bathroom areas to give something to hold onto when waters are a little rougher. On luxury craft, bars are often handy to have near to hot tubs and also on the swim platform where it can get quite slippery.

Make Sure Your Grab Bar Is Installed Correctly

When installing grab bars it is important that they are installed correctly and with the right fixings. The last thing you want is for your grab bar to become loose or to be pulled out of the wall. This is bad news for your wall but could also cause somebody to have an injury. Most grab bars come with instructions that tell you exactly how to install them in different scenarios.
