It all began with cork...

Cork is the renewable bark of the cork oak. It is gently removed to avoid damaging the tree and to allow it to recover.

This tree appeared over 60 million years ago in the western Mediterranean. It is a real carbon sink and lives for over 200 years. Cork has been used on sailing ships since ancient times for a wide range of purposes.

The bark is made up of cells with very large air vacuoles, giving it its incomparable impermeability, strength and elastic properties.

By choosing cork, you are opting for a noble, high-performance material and contributing to the development of Mediterranean forests by reducing your carbon footprint.

Our history

The origin of Seacork®

Aegir Cork Group and its registered trademark Seacork® were created in 2001 by a passionate visionary.

It was on his sailing boat that Dominique came up with the idea of creating a surface that was fully adapted to sailing.

Since then, he has installed several hundred boat bridges around the world.

In 2016, Aegir Cork Group acquired the sprayed cork business, Suberspray.

In 2023, the Aegir Cork Group was taken over by entrepreneurs from the Landes region: Aegir Cork Group joined forces with Agglolux-CBL, a cork specialist since 1929, extending its range to the nautical sector and enabling the group to position cork at the crossroads of luxury, performance and ecological ethics.
